All DeWalt 20V MAX batteries fit all 20V MAX tools. FlexVolt 60V batteries are also backward compatible and run 20V MAX tools by stepping down to 20V, so a FlexVolt pack can serve double duty.

Cross-fit adapters — read the warnings first
Adapters let one platform's battery run another platform's tools. They are unsupported by the manufacturers, can void warranties, and carry real safety risk. We have not tested them. A genuine same-platform battery is always the safer default.

Cross-compatibility notes
20V MAX is electrically the same class as DeWalt's legacy 18V line but uses a different stem; the DCA1820 adapter lets a 20V MAX battery run old 18V tools. Not compatible with other brands without unsupported adapters.
