This pack is a solid upgrade for anyone already running ONE+ 18V tools who wants more runtime than a starter 1.5Ah pack provides, and who values being able to check remaining charge without pulling the battery off the tool. It's not the platform's highest-capacity option, but 4.0Ah is a meaningful step up for daily use.

Compatibility

RYOBI describes ONE+ as a compatible battery platform dating to 1996 and states that the PBP005 works with any RYOBI 18V ONE+ tool, from basic drivers to HP High Performance tools. It will not fit RYOBI's 40V outdoor-power tools; ONE+ 18V and 40V are entirely separate platforms with no shared batteries or chargers.

The fuel gauge, and genuine vs. aftermarket

The LED fuel gauge is a real convenience — you can check remaining charge at a glance instead of guessing or waiting for the tool to bog down. As a genuine RYOBI pack, it also carries RYOBI's 3-year warranty. Buying notes
